Home > South Africa > National Parks > Haaspoort
Haaspoort is a private 2 thousand hectare malaria-free private nature reserve located in the Winterhoek mountains not far from Addo Elephant National Park. (see map below)
It is home to a large variety of wildlife and rare flora, much of which is unique to this region of South Africa.
Accommodation consists of four private thatched en-suite chalets that are both comfortable and private and come with timber decks overlooking the river where you can enjoy wonderful African sunsets or go on game drives, bush walks or simply relax by the pool and watch the day slip away.
You can choose to either stay as self catering or fully catered where you can enjoy bush dinners at the open lapa beside the glowing embers of the bush hearth. Brunch is often served on the swimming pool deck and in true Karoo.
If you choose to self caterer, you can use the large kitchen that has separate facilities for each chalet. Each kitchenette has everything you need for a convenient self catering getaway.
There are also private braai (BBQ) areas for each chalet.
The swimming pool makes a great place to relax and is positioned near the lapa.
